Somewhere out in the sticks of Dorset, sits the most gorgeous wedding venue called The Victorian Barn. We are incredibly lucky to be the in-house caterers for this venue, and even luckier that our first wedding of the season was held here on Saturday 6th June…
Being huge lovers of classic cars, it only made sense to theme the wedding that way, and Peter and Dorinda made a cracking entrance arriving in classic Bugatti’s, Peter driving his own pride and joy!
The canapés were quickly consumed by peckish guests on the beautiful front lawn: Cheesy Cheese Straws, Red Pepper Tartlets with Chorizo and Chilli, Mini Yorkshire Puddings with Roast Beef and Horseradish Cream, Smoked Salmon Blinis and Melon and Parma Ham Skewers.
Peter and Dorinda chose a very classic wedding breakfast menu of Herby Ham Hock, Salmon or Roasted Vegetable and Rosemary Terrine for the starter course. This was followed by Beef Wellington, Salmon Wellingtons or Wild Mushroom and Dorset Blue Vinny Wellingtons for the main course. For the dessert, the guests enjoyed a trio of desserts: Lemon and Ginger Cheesecake, Rich Chocolate Mousse and a Baby Meringue Nest filled with Summer Fruits. Then just for the Groom’s son who LOVES cheese, a beautiful cheeseboard was placed on each table for guests to enjoy during the speeches.
It was a truly gorgeous day and the happy couple gave us a thank you hug at the end of the end and said it was all perfect, just as they had imagined it!
