Somerset couple Dan and Claire completely fell in love with rustic venue Old Oak Farm in Curry Rivel, and booked the venue with no hesitation! Meat-lover Dan wanted a tasty buffet of roasted meats to complete their rustic theme on their wedding day, so Claire compromised and got to choose the pretty canapés for the guests on arrival! The canapés Claire chose were:
Salad of Home-Smoked Duck Breast, Mango, Pomegranate and Coriander
Parmesan Shortbreads with Basil Pesto and Somerset Brie (v)
Plump Thai-Marinated King Prawns
Really, Really Cheesy Choux Buns filled with an Apple and Leek Mornay Sauce (v)
Dan got his Somerset meat buffet, consisting of:
Roast Whole Legs of Lamb
Roasted Whole Chickens
Roast Beef Topside
Accompanied by Somerset Cheddar Cauliflower Cheese, Roasted Parsnips, Goose-Fat Roasted Potatoes, Sage and Onion Stuffing and really Tasty Gravy!
Desserts were: Rich Dark Chocolate Tart with Local Clotted Cream, Apple Strudel with Somerset Brandy Ice Cream (Claire’s favourite!) and Classic Eton Mess.
(I think this little guy really enjoyed our chocolate tart!)
