Charlie and Carly are one of the nicest, friendliest couples I have ever met. When I sat in their kitchen last year for an initial meeting and discussed wedding plans and exciting things we could do, I already knew it was going to be a special day! And the day certainly lived up to everyone’s expectations…
The ceremony was late afternoon in a little church about 5 minutes walking distance. The happy couple were driven in on a tractor (how else are you meant to do it in Somerset?!) and joined their friends and family for photo and photo! Wolfing down canapés and sipping fruity Pimms, everyone was having a lovely time! Then the Welsh Male Voice Choir got up to sing and really got the party started! Canapés included Wild Garlic and Potato Rostis with Aubergine Caviar and melting Somerset Brie, Red Pepper Tartlets with Chorizo and Chilli, Heart Shaped Croutes with Asparagus and Lemon Hollandaise, Salad of Home-Smoked Duck, Mango and Pomegranate in a Filo Basket and Pepper, Halloumi and Cherry Tomato Skewers with a Spicy Mango Dip.
Main Course was a Summery take on Roast Beef! Waiting staff presented each table with a joint of juicy rare Beef Topside, a dish of Roasted Garlic and Rosemary New Potatoes, Salad of Beetroot, Griddled Courgettes, Spinach and Fine Beans, Salad of Peaches, Feta Cheese, Walnuts and Celery, Fresh Horseradish Cream, Piccalilli and Balsamic Beef Gravy.
Around 10pm, guests enjoyed the succulent pig that had been roasting on a spit all day, and the free bar was going down a treat! At midnight, the wedding day had a spectacular finish with a firework display in the garden! Definitely a wedding to remember!
