This tipi wedding had a great vibe – fun, informal and at one with nature and the elements. Rain clouds threatened all day, putting the planned BBQ in jeopardy! But we were lucky; no rain to dampen anyone’s spirits!
The guests returned from the ceremony and spent a leisurely couple of hours chatting on the lawn, sipping Champagne and eating ice cream from the ice cream bike man! Thankfully guests weren’t too full from their ice cream to be tempted by the wonderful BBQ spread we were offering, with lots of people coming up for seconds:
BBQ MAIN COURSE
Citrus-Marinated Blackened Chicken Thighs and Drumsticks
Griddled Halloumi Skewers with Chargrilled Courgette and Mango Chunks (v)
Local Pork, Apple and Cider Bangers in Soft Bread Buns
Chargrilled Chicken, Chorizo and Pepper Skewers
Rustic Herby Coleslaw
Chef’s New Potato, Shallot and Parsley Salad
Dressed Baby Leaf and Seasonal Garden Veggie Salad
Jewelled Cous Cous with Pomegranate Seeds and Coriander
Elderflower Meringue Nests filled with Cream and Summer Fruits
Tangy Lemon Tart with Fresh Raspberries
Rich Dark Chocolate Tart
After the speeches, the fire pits were lit, the band started their set and the party really got going. You could clearly see that guests were letting their hair down and soaking up their surroundings. There’s something very pleasing about standing over a fire pit in the dark, toasting a marshmallow and looking up at the stars after such a lovely day.
Yarlington House in Somerset really is a gorgeous setting for a wedding. It has everything; a stunning Georgian house, a lawn big enough for games and plenty of socialising, views of the glorious English countryside and a number of magical gardens to explore.
Anthony and Hannah thank you so much for letting us be a part of your big day. We wish you many, many happy years ahead with lots of exciting and fun moments!
